Our History
For 59 years, Negocios de Café Acosta has been open in Santander de Quilichao, selecting the best coffee from Cauca. Jorge Acosta was the first, the patriarch of the Acosta Patiño family. He arrived in Santander de Quilichao in 1966 from Génova, Quindío. He came with the knowledge of having run coffee farms, but his strength was commerce, the buying and selling of coffee, and when he discovered Santander de Quilichao, he said, "This is it." He then forged a path of direct purchases from growers and sold to exporters. Jorge was soon recognized for what they once called "Proverb and Seriousness" in knowing how to select the best sacks of coffee. Jorge retired, but his son, Albeiro Acosta Patiño, who learned the trade from childhood, of seeking out the best coffee, remained. Now Esteban Acosta Patiño, the third generation, begins to decipher the flavor of walking among coffee and is committed to the Café Quilichao company.
History of
Café Quilichao
Being so close to the Café de Exportación (Coffee Export Market), we began roasting small quantities for family and close friends. In 1997, Don Abel Moncada Trejos founded Café Quilichao, and in 2005, Café Quilichao was acquired by the Acosta Patiño family. Since then, we have been committed to the traceability, selection, and roasting of Café del Cauca.
